Old Carolina brick fireplace Saratoga ca This was a remodel of a 5 year old fireplace. The client wanted an authentic pre 1900's look and we used Old Carolina brick company hand made brick. The stone pieces were part of a 350 year old antique French limestone fireplace from Jan De Luz antiques.
The arch has a very steep curve and required cutting of every brick . The cut edge was lightly chiseled to emulate the hand rolled brick look. Herringbone pattewrn was used on the hearth.
The mortar is a cement,lime and course sand mix with tan tint.
