Custom stone fireplaces
Montana Stone Fireplace, Berkeley, Alameda County, CA
This was a refacing over an old brick fireplace. The stone is a Montana 1" thick veneer from Shamrock materials in San Rafael CA. We cut down the original brick and the veneer includes corner return pieces so there is no visual difference in the final appearance compared to using a full thickness of stone.
The client purchased the wood beam as a mantel shelf. This is a classic loook and appears to be more original to the house than the previous brick fireplace. The fireplace was designed to accomodate the gas insert provided by Tubmakers in Berkeley.
